New to FiveM?
Six steps from a fresh PC to your first night in the city. Do them in order: each step needs the one before it.
Step 1: Own GTA V on PC
Skyverse runs on top of your own copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC. FiveM is free, the game isn't.
- Steam, Epic or Rockstar Launcher, Legacy or Enhanced edition: all of them work.
- PlayStation and Xbox don't work. FiveM is PC only.
- Start GTA V once and let it finish updating before you install FiveM.

Step 2: Install FiveM
FiveM is the free launcher that runs roleplay servers. Get it from fivem.net, install it, then open it once.
- Only from fivem.net. Copies on other sites can carry malware.
- On first start, FiveM looks for GTA V. If it asks, pick the folder that has GTA5.exe in it.
- Let it download its own updates. The first start takes a few minutes.
Step 3: Run Steam
Skyverse knows you by your Steam account. Open Steam and sign in before you start FiveM, every time you play.
- Use the same Steam account you sign in with on our site.
- Opened FiveM first? Close it, start Steam, then open FiveM again.
- Steam not running is the most common cause of "Verification failed".
Step 4: Sign in and pass the quiz
Sign in with Steam on our site and take the rules quiz. Pass it and you're whitelisted. No Discord application, no waiting on staff.
- 10 questions, 8 to pass.
- Read the rules first. The quiz checks you've read them.
- Didn't pass? You'll see what to reread, and can try again in 30 minutes.
Step 5: Connect
In FiveM press F8 to open the console, type the line below and press Enter. Or find "Skyverse" in FiveM's server browser.
connect play.vozxo.spaceChecking server status…
Step 6: Set up voice
Roleplay happens on voice. Sort your mic out before your first scene, not in the middle of it.
- Push-to-talk is N by default. Change it in Esc › Settings › Key Bindings › FiveM.
- Voice settings: Esc › Settings › Voice Chat. Turn voice chat on and pick your mic as the input device.
- Mic test: in Windows sound settings, pick your mic and talk. The input bar should move.

Still stuck? Open a ticket on Discord or contact us.
FiveM won't start
1. Start GTA V once through its own launcher and let it update. 2. Restart your PC, then open FiveM again. 3. If it asks for GTA V, pick the folder with GTA5.exe. 4. Your antivirus may be blocking it. Allow FiveM, or reinstall it from fivem.net.
Stuck on loading
Your first join downloads the city's files, so it can take several minutes. Give it time. Stuck for more than 10 minutes? Close FiveM, open its folder, go to FiveM.app › data and delete the cache, server-cache and server-cache-priv folders. Then connect again.
"Verification failed" when I connect
One of two things: 1. Steam isn't running. Start Steam, sign in, then restart FiveM and connect again. 2. You're not whitelisted yet, or you're on a different Steam account. Join from our site with the same account and pass the quiz.
My mic isn't working
1. Windows: check Settings › Privacy › Microphone lets desktop apps use your mic. 2. Windows: set your mic as the default input device. 3. In game: Esc › Settings › Voice Chat. Voice chat on, your mic picked as the input device. 4. Hold N while you talk, or whatever key you set.
High ping
Our servers are in India / Asia, so players further away see higher ping. To help: use a wired connection, and pause downloads and streams while you play. FiveM's server browser shows your ping before you join.
